Gateway System Restore XP R1
Recovery Media Creator Using Gateway System Recovery Windows XP R1 – ISO images
Recovery Media Creation is a one time process used to create backup media in the event the recovery partition on the hard drive becomes damaged or the hard drive fails. This media includes the operating system, drivers and application files. The media created during this process should be labeled and stored in a safe place.
1. One minute after completing the Out Of Box Experience (OOBE), you are prompted to create recovery media. If you select Remind me later, you are prompted every 24 hours and every time the computer is restarted.
If you wish to start the process yourself, you can. From the Start menu, point to All Programs, System Recovery, and then click Recovery Media Creator.
Note: If Recovery Media Creator is not listed, from the Start menu, click Run. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\WINDOWS\CREATOR\CD Creator.exe. Click OK.
2. At the Recovery CD/DVD Creator window, on the keyboard press Control – Shift – I.
3. In the Recovery CD/DVD Creator window, click OK.
4. In the Recovery CD/DVD Creator window, select the type of media format that you wish to create the ISO image on, and then click OK.
Note: When this ISO image is burnt, this type of media will be required.
5. The Recovery CD/DVD Creator writes the files to the ISO image(s).
6. Once the ISO image has been successfully made, in the Recovery CD/DVD Creator window click OK.
Note: A shortcut is created on the desktop that goes to the location of the ISO image.
